Greenwaves Music and Arts Gathering 2011
Graphics made Jan-Feb 2011
"A green background and the design is completely up to you!"  That's what the client wrote on the work order.   I was really excited to get to chance to work on the campaign for this because concert posters are one of my favorite things  to design.

Being that Greenwaves is the sort of eco-friendly type, I decided to make a vector of a tree (it's the first thing that comes to mind when I need symbolism for the environment).  To combine the whole concept of a tree with music, I made the tree very geometric, almost resembling 8-bit video games, and drew behind it some volume bars.  Also, I find that red really makes things pop on a graphic, so I have some red type in there as well for a little emphasis on certain parts of the copy.

UPDATE: I just recently was informed that this won the National Association for Campus Activities Graphics Competition under the Professional category for best Themed Promotional
This is the main design, used for a 41x55 A-frame, an 11x17 poster, and a 4x6 handbill.I used this design for several other print graphics of varying sizes, but I'm not sure if they were printed.
This is a banner they would hang from the second floor in the Student Union and the gym.
This is the web banner for the Campus Activities Board's website.  It's 1000x400 but for portfolio viewing purposes, I brought down to a smaller size.
Advertisement that was in the the march edition of Axis magazine.
Not sure where this one ended up, but it's supposed to be another advertisement.
